Family Migration
Family stream migrants are selected on the basis of their family relationship with their sponsor in Australia. There are four main categories:

• Partner - spouse, prospective spouse or interdependent partner (i.e. a person in a relationship with an Australian partner where they seek to share their life together)
• Child - dependent, adopted and orphan relative
• Parent - a person who meets the balance of family test and is sponsored by their child
• Other Family - age dependent relatives, remaining relatives and carers
